AMALIN DATTA, An Artist

“I was born into a creative and adventurous family. Growing up as Alokmoy Datta and Sharbari Datta’s son, one is bound to imbibe a flare for the arts from the air. I learnt sculpting mainly from my father while I watched my mother silently yet actively supporting him in his creative endeavours. Our home was often frequented with people from different walks of life who came with their own creative minds making artistry a process of cultivation for me. I have never had any formal training. I have time and again gone back to the roots and drawn my inspiration from there. The designs that we create in the sanctity of our atelier is a reflection of this ongoing journey of wisdom and cultivation. Combining the various forms of art, we try to tailor something new yet time-tested with each of our pieces. But this journey would have never been possible without my better half – the proprietor of Sharbari Studio –

KANAKLATA DATTA.

No art finds its true expression until it effectively communicates and it is Kanaklata, who, through her tireless efforts, introduced Sharbari Studio to the world. It was her idea that propelled us to pour in our creativity and she took it upon herself to make what Sharbari Studio is today. She carved a distinct style of her own when it came to projecting our brand to the world much like our designs. Kanaklata has always kept it original and fresh and Sharbari Studio wouldn’t have had so many friends and well wishers had it not been for her.

Sharbari Datta, my mother, also came on board when we told her about the idea. She helped us with her creative inputs and gradually the three of built a brand that the rest of the world knows as Sharbari Studio, today.”
